Explode BOM - Multiple BOM selection

Dear Experts,

Greetings!

Could you please let me know if there is any BADI/Enhancement to meet this requirement?

Scenario:

Lets say, a Material Number has got 3 BOM's available in the system.

And then, in the create Purchase Order screen user need to select the BOM by clicking of

Once you click on explode BOM

Present situation is-> it is showing only one BOM.  But the requirement is to show all the available BOM for this material. (in this case 3 as we said in the scenario).

Could you please help me with this?

I have requirement that multiple bom explode in purchase requisition level, as i know that multiple bom explosion available with purchase order. Please any one having the solution how to full-fill this requirements.

Hi Shankar,

You have to create production version for all the alternate BoM's and set the required production version in your Sub Contract info record.

The Version in the above screen shot is the production version which will be exploded in you sub con PO.

Also, in MRP4 view of the material master, set the selection method to '3' always use production version.

But my BOM is Universal BOM but not Production BOM.

It seems you've not referred my earlier comment.

Please check the SAP note 205454 - Documentation on subcontracting and refer the attached guideline for alternative BOMs.

I have refered to your reply.  But unfortunately, as the note 'Cannot be Implemented' i thought to look for any other configuration/BADI suggestion.

Are the configurations same for both Production and the Universal BOM?  If not, could you please share with us the configurations for Universal BOM (subcontractual PO).

in short, subcontracting PO and selection of BOMs does not work the way you expect it, read the documentation and also countless existing discussions on that in SCN (alone the reference to the SAP note mentioned by Rosh A is already made in 38 discussions)

But there is little confusion that my functional consultant says it works only for the Production BOM but not for the Universal BOM.

Then he might need to read some more OSS notes like 715192 - Determination of BOM Usage when exploding BOM and 458606 - FAQ: Subcontracting in purchasing and all the referenced OSS notes tin those notes

It depends on the setting you've in MRP4.

You've to select appropriate selection method and set product versions with Alternative BOM & BOM usage.

What is the exact Business Requirement. I believe this is a Subcontracting PO  for sending components to Vendor.

Yes. It is a Sub-Contracting PO.

Having selected Item Category as 'L' (Sub Contracting), then the buttons 'Explode BOM', 'Components' will be shown in 'Material Data' tab.

Now, when we click on the 'Explode BOM' button, the multiple BOM that are available for Material Number should be shown and the user should be able to select one among them.
