e-Commerce Implementation Time - break down please

Hi There,

I'm advised that the 'average' implementation time for Webtools e-Commerce is around the 10 day mark.

Would someone please provide a breakdown of how that 10 days would be used?

I have a prospect who beleives it should be 'plug and play' and cannot understand why the 10 days is required. A breakdown of each task which would need to be performed along with the times associated with each task would be most helpful right now.

Derek has done an excellent summary of the road to a successful installation.

The implicit caveat Derek is exposing: those who are not familiar with web technologies are often shell shocked at the technical demands of a Webtools install.

You should be aware of the demanding technical requirements to succeed. If you do not have someone with strong command of HTML, CSS, SQL and C# (or at least .NET) you are likely to find the going very tough.

As Derek noted, you could probably pull off an install in a few days if you went with the ugly gimme theme.

The synch has proven the most problematic element of the install (hats off to the UI gurus who have rewritten carts and...), especially for those who have established B1 dbs with complex pricing (expansions an heiracrhies).

I could elaborate.

Nutshell--be prepared for some surprises.

Successfull installs have ultimately been managed by highly competent people, such as Derek, who bring their skills to a successful web design.
