Duplicate material code

Hi MM Experts,

Let me know how to avoid duplicity of material based on material descrition?

I want that whenever new material is created we should have tool to check based on the material description to avoid duplicity.

dear

see whenever you try to create with same mat no...sytem wont allow you to do it...because it will tell material already exists...

this not possible because the material no which we have assigned is always buffering...

try to create same material it wont allow you.
