Hi Experts,

What is the difference between transfer posting between Plant to Plant(301) & St.loc to St.loc(311) for both Non-WM managed & WM managed storage location.

I mean 301 & 311 for Non WM managed storage location.

Same 301 & 311 for WM managed storage location.

Please help me out.

Regards,

There are lot of possible scenarios here:

1. Check if issuing or receiving plants are WM managed. Easy way to check is to confirm the Plant+SLoc combination in Table T320.

2. Transaction with delivery or without delivery.

3. Following movement types will be used for different stock transfer scenarios

With STO: 351, 641, 643

W/o STO: 301, 303, 305.

With delivery: 641 & 643

W/o Delivery: 301, 303, 305, 351

Intracompany: 301, 303, 305, 351, 641

Intercompany: 643

3. For WM transaction a TR will be created for goods movement step. You may have to create a TO with respect to mat doc (LT06)/ with respect to delivery(LT03) and then confirm TO (LT12). Assuming all required configurations and master data are maintained properly.

Hi Ashish,

Thanks for your post.

My query is :

Inter-company transfer posting(301 & 311) for non wm storage location.

How to carry out 301 & 311 ?

I mean to say what is the standard sap practice for TP(301 & 311) in Intercompany ?

Hi Karan,

301 is used for plant to plant transfer for intracompany stock transfer while 311 is used for st location to st loc transfer within the same plant. So 311 does not quality for plant to plant stock transport scenario either intracompany or intercompany.

For Intracompany transfer you could execute 301 without STO: TCode: MB1B

For Intercompany you could use a PO with Plant vendor maintained, Post delivery VL10B (Mvt Type 643 used when GI) and use MIGO + Mvt type 101.

Here is a link which explains the process in detail for intercompany transfers:

Hi Karan,

For Non-WM Managed SLoc, a simple MIGO based Transfer Posting will transfer the stock.

But for WM Managed SLoc, you will have to carry out the transfer requirement and the transfer order additionally after carrying out the transfer posting in MB1B/MIGO to complete the transaction.

You can read all about the different Movements in a Warehouse in the following link:

Hi Manoj,

I have done Transfer Posting for Plant to Plant(301) & St.loc to St.loc(311) within same company code.

But when i have tried to do the same between two different company code it is not happening.

What are the additional steps needed to achieve the same between two company code ?

Hi Karan,

For Inter-company Stock Transfer in WM, you should be able to post the same in MIGO/MB1B using 2 different plants. Remember the same conventional methods of transferring stocks can be used for Inter-Company process as well.

But in your case, make sure that the stock is maintained for both the plants under Warehouse and all process necessary config is done to ensure smooth process flow. Also, let me know what error the system is displaying while executing the flow. It will help to analyse the issue.

I believe the wm managed scenario will trigger additional transaction / document on transfer orders so that stocks are transferred from one bin to another . Bins are org units that are 1 level below storage locations.
