difference between implementation and roll out

Hi Experts,

Please tell me what is the difference between implementation and roll out. And what could be the possible role of an ABAPer in roll out.

Hi Sid,

Roll out is copying same configuration to other plants.

e.g. First SAP implementation is done for any one plant of any company, then for other plants we actually dont require to go for full implementation cycle since within saqme company same processes would be followed irrespective of plants. In such a case we for roll outs wherein we copy all configuration(major role will be of BASIS in this part).

Then there might be some master data change across plants so functional guys will be taking care that if required.

I dont think there is major ABAP role in any rollout as all developements are transported to the new plant. only in case of a plant specific new requirement comes then ABAP will come into picture.
