Hi Superiors,

Can anybody explain me about data migration ?how a sap hr consultant is responsible for this ?

Hi

Data Migration is all about transfering data from Legacy system to SAP. Function consultant have a good responsibility for the same. We generally create LSMW or BDC for uploadind Master data and cut over data. Templates are sent to the core users. According to the template data are to be filled in Excel sheet. Then thru LSMW or BDC data are uploaded to SAP system.

this data migration is done in Final preparation stage of the project .

then there is no roles of a sap hr consultant in data migration.

If there is no HR Functional consultant... how the user or other people get to know the technical names of the fields that will be used in the template? It is required that the consultant and the core user team work together in this stage

As said by you Data migration will be done in Final preparation stage and yes it is Functional Responsibility to finalise the templates based on the client Requriement and than upload the same in the System

While uploading please take care of the Legacy Data Templates which will be given by the client with the Data and try to Upload first in QA for the testing purpose and later go for the Production upload

Once the data is uploaded please cross check the Number of records from the Excel with the Data Browser Table
