Hi
Greetings!
The client wants to store GOS documents in a separate content server to avoid the load in default storage SAP DB.
Can you please tell me the configuration steps to achieve this requirement.
We already have content server in place and we want to use this content server to store GOS documents..
Which "Document Area" should we select while creating content repository for GOS objects. What is the use of defining the document area in OAC0.
Regards
Harris..

Hi Harris,
Please follow the below steps and test:
1. Go to OACT
2. Select SOFFDB Content Repository
3. Change the setting like Document Areas (Select DMS), Storage Type (HTTP Content Server)
4. Enter Server IP and Port Number.
5. Send Certificate and Active it.
6. Test Connection.

Hi Haris,
Document area will indicates you from where document need to push into content server.
Create repository with 2word letter for GOS attachments . If you put document area as blank it will be acts as archive links for multiful requirement .
Just follow the content repository id of DMS for GOS with document area as blank. Remaing configuration follow the steps under iMG -> SAP NetWeaver->Application Server->Basis Services->ArchiveLink->

Hello,
Here i will suggest you to use VAULT config settings for document storage in physical central repository instead SAP DB space.

Hi Egor Malov
Thanks for your reply.
Can you please tell me the document area which has to be selected for GOS while creating a content repository (For example, we select "DMS" for Document Management System)
Can we leave it blank or what is the use of document area to be mentioned in T-Code:OAC0.
Regards
Harris
Hi Harris,
You have to select the area as "Document Management system" so that all the files uploaded through GOS will go in DMS area.
You can not leave the field blank. In OAC0 you have to define other parameters like I.P address of DMS server, Port Number, Host ID & .dll file path.
Also check in CSADMIN transaction that server is up/run properly by clicking on certificate send button.
Thanks
Pravin
Hi
Thanks for your answers.
@Praveen, we already have DMS module in place. We have configured content server and mentioned area as "Document Management system" for DMS module and thus the system doesn't allow us to use the same document area for content category now. Should we need to create a new docuemnt area for GOS or else which document area can be used for GOS.
I want to understand that "Though we create a content repository in content server for storing documents, what is the use of document area."

Harris
