Adding Multilingual data in OITM.ItemName field using DI Server API

Hi All,

I am facing a problem regarding adding data for different language in OITM.Itemname field using DI Server api. I have searched a lot but not found any API reference or example of adding multilingual data with DI Server please give me suggestion.

What excatly are you trying to achieve ? Do you mean to store multiple item names (in different languages) in the ItemName field ?

Yes you are right I want to store item name in different languages in MLT1 table.

Hi Utpal,

I am pretty sure that the MLT1 table has nothing to do with the Item Master Data's Item Name field.

If you want to store multilingual versions of item names, you are probably going to have to create a user table for that purpose.

At any rate, this table is not accessible with the DI API.

Okay, I see. My guess is that this is either relatively new functionality, or specific to your B1 localization, because I cannot access it in my installation.

If this is new, it may take a while for SAP to expose this functionality to the SDK (perhaps in version 10 or 11), and if this is specific to your localization then you may be sure that this functionality will not be exposed in the DI API at all, unless SAP decides to make this available in all localizations sometime later.

Hi Johan,

I don't think this is a new functionality. You can simply get this functionality my making a small change in your company setting. Go to administration part of your company click on System Initialization after that click on company setting after that go to basic initialization section and make the multilanguage support check box on. After this you will get a globe sign and on clicking the globe sign you will get the above mentioned functionality.
