Writing file on application server

Hi ,

I have a requirement where i am using parallel processing. Earlier i was reading the data within each parallel process and writing it into a Z table. When all the parallel processes are done i read the data from the Z table and dump it onto a file on application server. But this is taking a hell lot of time.

How can i write the data into a single file from the parallel processes at same time on the application server without using the Z table.

Hi,

Will opening the file in APPEND MODE works!!!? (Assuming order of the records doesn't matter).

I doubt if the locking happens for application server files. Need to try and see.

Other solution is, submit a batch job for selecting data from Ztable , write to the file and send a mail notification once data is downloaded to the concerned people.

Hallo,

If you are running on 6.0 version you can use the share memory area. This is an class-bse solution. There are a lot of posting in the SDN. If you are need more thelp me with this send me a message. The hole idea is that you can send to memory data and these data to be accesable not only from you but from everyone. One program is assigning (attaching) data into the memory root and an other is reading. You can attach more than 16MB and the performance is excellent.
