unrelease a released transport request

hi,

i would like to ask that, is it possible to unrelease a transport request.

i have accidentally released a sub transport request, and i would want to unrealeasd it, is there any way to do so?

please help. thanks

1. The changes done by this released request,

cannot be undone in the target server.

2. Even if we delete/remove this request in DEV server,

the changes (which are already done in target server)

won't roll back.

3. If your purpose is to release it again,

then it can be done by the basis team.

(they will RE-IMPORT it in the target server)

4. Probably basis team can also change the status of this request.

I think it's not possible to unrelese.

U did only sub transport request when ever u relese parent request then only total request relesed.

Hi,

No once it's released you can not change it back to 'unreleased' status. However if you do not want to have those changes appearing in the target client ask basis people to hold the 'IMORT' of the request, which can be done whenever it is convenient to you may be along with other requests.

HI Ben,

U have released only subtask. Not the main transport. So no problems. U can create on more subtask under the same request, Make all ur changes and then release the main TR.

Unless u release main TR ur changes will not be reflected in target server. U can do a remote comparision and check whether ur chages are reflected. Also once u release only thing u can do is u can stop the release of changes to target server for the specified period of time with help of BASIS. But u can't revert once u release it.

For doing remote comparision:

Utilities->version management. Select ur latestversion and press remote comparision button give the target server name. Select the latest version in target server and press compare.

If both the codes are same then ur changes are moved to target server. If not then no need to worry.

why would you want to unrelease it in the first place? If development for this task is not yet ready, just change it and assign to transport request.

i need to release it, so that i can delete it. because i have accidentally released the sub transport, and there are multiple subtransport from different abaper working on same main transport on that program. so i need to remove mine from the main transport, in order not to confuse and to avoid any unnessary cause.....

if it cannot be unrelease, then is there any way for me to remove it even it has been released? thanks

Hi,

As far as i know it is not possible to revert once u release the transport/subtask. Also u mentioned that many abapers worked on the same transport. It is not possible unless u take the ownership of both TR and subtask. I mean if u take ownership of subtask then u will be able to make chages but u can't release main TR.

Is ur changes and others chages are in the same subtask. Create one one more subtask and delete all ur chages(Only ur changes) and release the TR. So now ur changes will not be there and others changes will be there. This is the only way i guess.

Another workaround will be Retrieve the earlier TR(In version management there will be one button retrieve, Select the TR just before current TR and press retrieve. But this will overwrite all the changes done under current TR with old code)

what do you mean by "SUB" transport request. if it means the task under a main request then you can do the changes again and create another task and then release your request. your changes will be undone. the changes do not reach the target server unless the main request is released. you can have any number of tasks and keep releasing them before releasing the main transport request.

if you have released the main request itself then it is not possible to "unrelease". I would recommend if you want to undo your changes then do them in the development server and release another request that undoes these changes.
