There is a built in escape function. But I could not find any "unescape" function. Is there any unescape function?

Short question, short answer:

There's no built-in unescape function.

(In fact, sometimes I miss it too).

I'm a bit puzzled in what context this would be needed, but it's so nice to see a question not from LMGTFY category for a change, so maybe could help?
