Unable to compare the same program in different systems

Hi,

We have a Development & QA system (apart from Production). Now for a program that is in both, Dev & QA, I wanted to compare them using SE37. I clicked on "Compare Different Systems" button. Now I selected the program from Dev for Left-Justified & from QA for Right. When I hit the "Display" button, it gave me the following error message:

Error remote access: Error during the retrieval of the logon data store.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you.

When comparing a program with a remote system in SE37, a RFC destination to the remote system is entered. When there is an error accessing the remote system, then have a look and check the RFC destination used. RFC destinations are defined and checked using transaction SM59.

Regards Jack

Hi Jack,

I went to SM59 & double clicked on my RFC (that I thought would work). It took me to the RFC destination config. screen & it showed me the following message:

User password invalid for identifier /RFC/----

(see long text)

( the dotted lines denote the RFC name )

It's not shown with a red cross mark. It's shown with a Green tick mark. So how do I correct this now & be able to compare the proram? Please let me know.

Thank you.

In SM59 you can maintain a user / password to the remote SAP system. The user / password maintained here might be invalid. You can also delete tehe user / password. Then during setting up the remote connection (in SE37 or when testing the RFC destination in SM59) you can enter a user / password.

Hi.

This looks like a basis problem.

Talk to your basis people and ask if it's something they can fix.

Guy.

If you have already setup the RFC(From SM59) with QAT,than simply just you can do version comparison from SE38>versions>remote comparison, give source and target client and compare.

To Amit:

The RFC's were setup already. I did not do anything. I was just trying to use the existing ones. Does that help you suggest a possible solution?

To Guy:

Appreciate your efforts to help me, but prior to contacting Basis (which I wanted to, as a last option), I wanted to make sure that I try everything on my end. Thanks though. If you have any other answer, you are more than welcome to share with us.

Look forward to some working solutions. Thanks all.
