Hi,

Table Maintenance will be created to a table where user want to maintain data of that table. From there user can enter data, delete data and modify data.

After creating table maintenance, From SM30 transaction user can do maintenance.

You can create table maintenance, from SE11 after creating table, you will find table maintain generator in the utilities and there you have to give function group and authorization. System will create screens in that function group.

Cheers,

Simha.

Hi Vijay,

If u use One Step,

while we want to change or modify then u will get the view in which is similar to the SM30 view, all the field and table rows will be present and u have to edit there itself..

But if u give Two Step,

Then u will get a seperate view such as new screen with rows for the particular entry to add to the view...

Cheers,

Simha.

One step, two step in Table Maintenance Generator

Single step: Only overview screen is created i.e. the Table Maintenance Program will have only one screen where you can add, delete or edit records.

Two step: Two screens namely the overview screen and Single screen are created. The user can see the key fields in the first screen and can further go on to edit further details.

Regards,

Priyanka.

Hi Vijay,

You can <b>generate database table and view maintenance dialogs to maintain customizing data.</b>

You can create, change and delete customizing data with these maintenance dialogs. You can also use maintenance dialogs for customer database table and maintenance views.

You can modify maintenance dialogs flexibly to your requirements by defining variants of an existing maintenance view, or adding your own modules to existing maintenance dialogs. You can make further functional enhancements at predefined events in the table maintenance dialog flow. You can collect related data from more than one table/view in a view cluster.

For creating & working with Table Maintainence Generator check this link .

Hi

Adding to above as per i know,

As an Abaper in case if u wanna change any entries in table u go to Table Main. Gen. and do the needful. But what, sometime later the if Enduser wanna make any change bcos he may not know anything about tab. gen. .So SAP provided an option of this for the enduser purpose to make necessry chnges.
