Table Maintainence generator

Hi all,

I have a strange problem with table maintainence generator,as system is not able to create and stops as 80percentage give a dump of runtime.

Any solution urgently required.

Hi Aima,

Pls look into the short dump and follow the instruction given there for the solution also you can seek help from your basis people.

It is now not generating but it skipping out saying TIME EXCEEDED?

For my last post,

System is hanging around 50percentage and after 3 min it is comming on inital screen of SAP giveing a status message as TIME EXCEEDED

My table is active nd all domains are active nad every thing is fine with table but still i have problem with TAble maintainence generator

if u r repeatedly getting the short dumps for the above said and if it is taking more time while generating the same then its a basis configuration which canbe due to memory space issue .

consult the basis admins to get into this .

Hi Aima,

delete the tablemaintenance, and start from scratch .

for deletion goto table in change mode, and click on table maintenenace , and now you can see delete option delete it, and then now create it from the scratch , mention the function group, screen number etc...

Now save it, and go to SM30 and maintain it..

I have tried it nearly 50 times buy changing my FM and as well Package,but not really able to grap the problem ,it again hangs at 50 percentage

Ok, did you consulted any one of your BASIS,

what is your role(authorization).

for any thing it taking that much time or only for this..

can you check some of the existing ones also..

Did you check out ST22 and SM21 for more details related to your dump?

1.what is your role(authorization).

I did it previously for many customise tables as i was authorised.

It is very fast for all other things but for Table M. G. it is hanging.

so that you can compare with them..

and can you tell what you gave in the table maintenance generator screen, ..

Authorisation group as &NC&

Authorisation Object as s_tabu_s

FG

PACKAGE

Maintainence SCreen one step and proposed screen number

REcording routine : no.

Compare Flag Automatically Adjustable.

what ever did is fine, is there any problem with your table, did you specify the key fields like mandt, key field..

When i tried to look at the previous screen where i tried to create Table maintainence generator it give me a message <b>'SCREENS EXIST but not in Control Directory'</b>

click on the 2nd tab <b>Delivery and Maintenance</b>

u can select here

if you do't maintain technical settings for your table...

then

while creating the table you can find the dropdown for Data Browser/Table View Maint. <b>Display/Maintenance</b> Allowed

choose that

Hi all, i have gone through all the documentation for Table maintainence Generator

where could i find <b>Control Entry</b>

I able to see my view in TVDIR table as well but still when i use FM VIEW_CALL_SCREEN i am not able to see neither i am able to create any Table Maintainence generator completely.

Can any one Help me out at this part?

I have never come across this error. Is this the first time you are trying to create a table maintenance for this table or you had it before and then added few more fields to the table afterwards?

Go to SE54. Select the 'Generated Objects' and delete. Then recreate everything. Use a different screen number and make sure you are using a function group of your own, not one in SAP name space.

How many fields do you have for your table, what types are they?

Could you please paste the short dump? So I can look something for you , as you’re confident about your all setting ,I’m sure you’re doing right .But If you paste the Short dump it might help us to solve your problem .

Pl Also let me know the OS /SAP version and DB....

I had this table Maintainence view created before upgrade to EC5.0 and after that when a copy was made again to developemnt System and retested it was working fine and after some transports to Test system ,i am not able to create any Table Maintainence Generator in my Development system?

Problem : when i create a Table maintainece Generator it got created uptill 50 percentage and when it executed till 10 min it shows a dump of Time out, after i deleberately close the session and check my FM there the screen is Present and is active as well but when try to call it via SM 30 but view is not displayed

i checked in Table TADIR the Table is Active and when i see in TVDIR it View is Active and generated, i tried my best to remove the bug but not sucessful.

Hi

Ok I am also throwing some light on this problem...

1. As all said make sure that you are ok with your table creation..settings under Delivery maintenance tab and Techinical settings..

2. If it is already existing table, and any new filelds are added after/before creating table maintenance genereator...Activate table and adjust the table...

3. If the function group is newly created for this activity then makesure that it is activated ...Go to se38 and give SAPLXXXX (XXXX = your function group name) and activate it.

4. If it is a already existed function group then when you are creating table maintenance generator make sure you are giving new screen numbers....(Check for new screen numbers by cliking propose screen numbers button on top)..

Try out all these things and let us know if problem exists then we will work it out....
