Table activation Error

Dear Experts,

I have created a secondary index for table EKPO with the following fields

EBELN LOEKZ WERKS MATKL PSTYP KNTTP WEPOS EVERS

When I activated index in developement sytem it is active.then I went to utilities activate/adjust with save option.then I have done the same to table EKPO activation it gave me warning occured during activation I checked the log 'The name MMPUR_BEKPO is already reserved for a type group' along with other warnings .I moved ahead and transported it quality ,in Quality table is partially active.Please help me in resolving the issue.

Hi,

Go to SE14 transaction : enter table name and select 'Activate and adjust database'.this tool will adjust the partly active database tables.

then run the program 'RSDDCHECK' with table name.it will do the consistency check.

Hi imtiaz,

1. This can happen sometimes.

2. In such case, we have to manually

do SE14 (Activate and Adjust)

in QA Server

as well as PRD Server.

I feel your answer is the perfect solution. But apprciate

the thread member answers also.

But what happend is recetly we had upgrade and this issue got resolved automatically in Upgrade most probably some other developer would have done your solution.

Dear friends,

EKPO is the heart of the business table .What precautions to take if some thing goes wrong in this exercise.How I can take the back up of the data and how to restore the same.If for example there are 350 million records.

I am really in tricky and difficult position to explain this situaltion .

Please advice.

select the radio button save data and then press activate and adjust table.

just now i had creaqted the index for your table EKPO with your fields and it got activated without any error .

see the index id is <b>SEA</b> i had given

<b>short text</b> ,

<b>Non-unique index first option</b> ,

then all fields ....

<b>activated</b> no warining ....

and<b> started activating the table </b> ..... it was activated ...

see in your case as you said it is big table with large no of data so .... do the activate of the table in the prodction it will take some time ... because it will start creating an new index and sorts the full(large no of data ) as per the new index sort in the database level ......

i think you would have came out <b>in the middle of the activation of the table</b> ...thatiswhy it shows <b>Partly ativated</b>

Hi,

Plz go to se11,give ur table name...Go to utilities..there will be data base utility will bethere..click tht and there will be a push button...adjust and activate database...either click keep the data and adjust or delete it and adjust...
