System error: Unable to lock table/view ...

Dear experts, 

In a new system, when trying to execute some customizing in IMG, a message occured. Same issue exists for other customizing.

And also when trying to download a note, another error happened.  I believe they could be the same issue.

Did anyone know the resolution for these two issue?

Hi Gary,

in a new system it might be a system configuration error (invalifd profile parameters, missing processes, errors in startup scripts and many more). First you should check the system log for some information.

Also a system restart may be an option.

Hi,

Contact with your basis team for this.

May be some deadlock / lock is there, also check SM12.

Hope basis will solve this issue.

May be you have to restart your system / delete the lock entry.

There is no entry in the SM12. And this issue exist for all the customizing. It seems I lack some necessary authorization.

Yes,May be you have missing authorization.

for this the one way to contact basis team & enter /nsu53 in SAP(where your authorization missing,)Take screenshot.

Then contact BASIS team.

Did you check SU53..If their are no locks in SM12..check with basis also

Hi Gary,

In your system issue with the Lock management.

Kindly do the following step to identified the issue.

1. Run the transaction SM12.

2. Click on Extras tab,then select the Diagnosis option.

3. Then output screen will be appear,it will display the result.

Try to resolve the error as shown in result screen.

The system I think is having trouble accessing the enqueue server. Basis team will be able to help you.

Turn out the system is under hardware maintainence. After restart the system works fine.
