in menu bar

goto create MIME TYPE with your extention required (.xls)

then assign by browsing the file you want

if u r confused check the existing MIME types by double clicking on it

presently i don't have SAP system, did't remember exact navigation.

which version u r using.

in ECC6 you can find creation and assign of MIME types from menu bar.

to see the existing MIME types double click on any MIME type

ex:

image

*.jpeg, *.gif, *.jpg

create a new one for u r requirement with

EXCEL

*.xls

when u try to assign MIME type it ask for the file (may be to validate the file type)

after assigning it won't show the error which u r facing now
