Hi,

What does '=' sign in search help field of a F1 help on a screen field mean?

Hi Vishwanath,

by giving '=' in search help field, it only gives an user that there is standard F4 help availabe for that fileld.

Hi,

This is functionality left over from matchcodes, and was more widely used in R/2 on mainframe terminals.

If I enter =CI* into (say) a material number field and hit enter, it will list all materials that start with CI. The equals sign bypasses any field validation and instead runs the matchcode.

I think, my question was not so clear. Let me explain the scenario.

- Goto XD03

- Use F1 on the customer account number field

- See the technical details of the field.

- Here, you will see '=' sign in the search help field. I am asking, What is this?
