Search Help not displaying

Hi,

When I tried to remove number for a description for search help in screen. But when I select description its not displaying in the screen. Please provide me slouition.

Thanks anyways. You know, when we click on f4 for a certain field, we get hitlist.

In that for a field we see num and desc columns. My problem is to replace the numbers. I want to diaplay only description. Can you please tell me how to do that.

I think you are asking how to suppress a field from the hit list.

Either remove the parameter all together from the search help.

Or, blank out the 'LPOS' parameter of the parameter you wish to hide. This will stop it appearing on the hitlist but it will be available to the search help for other purposes.

fill the field <b>Lpos</b> with 0 for the number field which u do not want to output

I did like that, But I do not see any change. The Numbers for rest of the fields is also displaying. Please expalin me clearly why its happening like this.

For 1st field, i did like this, but description is apperiang in hit list, but when I select it, its not selecting/taking.

ur problem is not clear...

try this.......

for number fields put IMP as X and for description fields put EXP as X

if u want clear picture on this , just press F1 on each fields IMP , EXP , Lpos and Spos , ucan get an idea

have you activated the sh after making your change?

If so, please try and show us how the sh looks

eg,

param ,imp,exp,lpos,spos,sdis,element

I am able to solve it a bit. Now when I select descrption, its displaying No. Si I want to display description instead of Number. Can you please tell me how to do that.

try checking and unchecking IMP and EXP checkboxes for description and number in different combinations , u can check out the outcome of that

Hi Chandra and Neil,

Actually there is one screen element, for that there are 4 fields. For the first field no Number is displaying. I did it right. But for the thrid field and fourth field the numbers for the first 3 fields are displaying. How can I avoid that,

Thanks-a-lot man. I solved it by creating z data elements and z domains. and by enabling/disabling IMP and EXP parameters. main problem was we had dependencies which are not correct.
