Hi everyone,
I have the following request from a customer:
We need to create an exit for a search help, consisting only of a small subset of lines (7 in total) and having only 4 fields. The table which we assign it to, is much more larger.
For this purpose I created a custom table and populated it with these 7 entries (The customer will maintain it in he future). Now I need to create a function module for this exit. What shall I use? I found only the function module F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE but I don't know whether it makes sense to use it in my case. Is there any better solution for this requirement?
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
Sorry Mariya, could you clarify:
- You need to create a search help or put an exit on the search help ?
- Why do you create a table ? to list the possible value for another table ? or does it represent the search help ?

Dear Fredric,
Thank you for your comment. I needed to restrict my old search help only to 7 particular records and keep them in a table, so that my customer can add more records to the search help if needed.
I solved the problem by choosing the z-table as a selection method, so the exit was not necessary.
