I think

SE Stands for System Environment

SM Stands for System Maintenance.

Basis people generally use these SM related Transactions....

I guess that is the naming standard which sap might have considered and there is no specific abbrevation for that ..

Hi,

It is the SAP Notation used to define different T codes.

For some it uses SE and for some SM and for some DB like that based on the group of relative transactions.
