Hi experts,

Can any one tell me what is the differce between SAP <b>rollout</b> and SAP <b>Support</b>.

Hi Kaki,

In support you are doing the task of modification/changes. while in case of rollout you are creating the task as it is already implimented for one country . Roll comes into existance when a company is opening their branch in some more countries then you have to extend your system/data to those country also

rollout that is suppose to say for a client 'X' had two palnts( manufacture of products ) in diffrent countries, first that client implemented sap for 1st plant which is in india and he want to implement sap for second plant also which is in say USA so without changing the formats of coding means bdc's or layouts or standard reports all those things which is used for first implementation for 1st plant.just you need to enter that palnt data which is in USA with some small modifications.

Mandatory : plants may be diffrent places but those plants should be belongs to that same client

In support you are doing the task of modification/changes.

support is for user who uses the sap for client .

if they find there are need for any modication according to their requirment than they contect to u to do modifivcation....

Hi kaki,

1. SAP Rollout

After implementing once in a company,

the company expands its operations,

to other cities and countries.

So the functional consultants need to

CONFIGURE/CUSTOMIZE R/3 for these new

plants/companycodes/countries etc.

(At the same time, they have to give training,

meet the modified requirements, and once

again go in to the process of AS-IS, To-Be,

Businesss blue print , roadmap , go-live etc)

This is called rollout.

It is nothing, but EXTENSION of implementation

to other sites.

2. Support

(Its nothing but a normal suppport,

after any go-live (whether main go-live or

go-live after rollout))

Hi,

In SAP support u modify or customize existing systems wherein rollout u install the same solution in different branch of same company.
