SAP license allocation

Hi,

I have some querries regarding license allocation,

Pl. help me out,

1. I have the user only creates Purchase order and purchase requisition, what user type should assigned? professional,ltd professional or shop floor user.

2.The user only creates invoice billing including excise invoice,which license to allocate?

3.User only doing goods reciept and internal,inter plant goods movement, which license to allocate?

4.User only run Excise transactions for the monthly utilization of excise,which license to alloacte?

Pl. focus on license allocation strategy.

Hi Devendra,

It is depend on your package and/or based on SAP software functions user performs, please refer below definitions for some user types.

Professional: users who perform more wider and important operation/administration (Monetary or HR related critical function) related functions

Limited professional: user who perform limited function in SAP

Employee: who perform very specific activity or non critical activity

Example based on function criticality

Create: Professional

Change: Ltd Professional

Display user: Employee

Similarly it is depend on number of functions performed by users, the more wider the SAP software functions used the higher the license type.

As I said in the other thread you asked this question (Becoz of which t code, a role is considered as professional license) - there is no simple answer to this and it will most likely depend on the details of your contract with SAP. Since we haven't seen that contract nobody here can give you a definitive answer. You need to speak to whoever manages the contract at your organisation, and possibly to your SAP account executive also.

I have 34 Professional,6 ltd professional,29 shop floor and 4 employee license,

Now I have to assign to each User ID,

Pl. help me ,how to allocate?

Since contract seems to  nearly same for the organization,

As I keep saying - I can't give you an answer. SAP contracts really do vary quite a lot from customer to customer. They are not "nearly the same". If you are unsure you need to speak to the person at your organisation that manages the contract, or to your SAP account manager, or both.

Hi,

Listen to Mr Steve, his advice is spot on.  Licence agreements (and the interpretations of the standard phrasings) vary hugely.  In recent years SAP account execs have required clients to specify what falls into each licence category and this serves as a point for negotiation.
