Restoration of SAP JAVA by using Database Specific tools

Can we restore the latest online backup which is done by database specific tools in an SAP Java AS ?

If not, why?

It is Netweaver 7.3

Hi Gopi ,

You should be fine and use the backup to restore back the same system .

Persistent data is not kept in the FS above 7.1 , You could recover the server0 directory contents  anyway from the DB restore for versions above 7.1.

If i were you i would backup the current filesystem & db  before attempting though
