Where are the report events(initialization, at selection screen, select options, top-of-page etc) placed in the code

at the beginning or at the end

There are placed at begining of their individual blocks ( meaning - when ever you need to have an event (example: top-of-page, you should declare the event at that particular place.

But there is a sequence in which its called, for example initialization will always be called first (when the program initilizes)

Report Structure :

Data dclaration part

selection -screen.

<b>initialization</b> First event to fill the default values

<b>At selection-screen</b> . Second event - Validation on selection-screen

<b>Top-of-page</b> - Third event- header

<b>end-of-page</b> - fourth event - footer

<b>start-of-selection</b> -fifth event- main processing

if you use logical database then two events you need to use

get,get late.

end-of-selection -last event -output formatting

HI Alexander,

here i am writing the events in the order they trigger.

SELECTION-SCREEN.....

<b>INITIALIZATION:</b> Fill the default values into the fields or we can assign values to the fields in this event. It triggers first.

<b>AT SELECTION-SCREEN:</b> It is commonly used for validations like ON-REQUEST ( for search help) , OUTPUT ( modify screens ).

<b>TOP-OF-PAGE:</b> Header of the report or any data to print on top of the page in list.

<b>END-OF-PAGE:</b> Footer details like page no: / total no: of pages.

<b>START-OF-SELECTION:</b> For processing ur code selects, loops, FM'S and all.

<b>END-OF-SELECTION:</b> Output formating. It is not required to write normally but in some special conditions like to print after the START-OF-SELECTION event.
