Rename the function group

How to rename the function group name????

I tried with... copy option.... but its asking for function modules of that function group name change...

I dont want to change the names of function modules..

display the function group in SE80 and right-click on the name and choose Rename...

sorry, I thought this works, but really not...

In this case I am afraid, there is only a three-step way:

1. Copy the function group with the new name and all the function modules inside

2. Delete the original function groups and its modules

3. Rename all the funciton modules to its original name in the new function group

In SE03 , Under * Object Directory* Select Change Object Directory Entries, Check Function Group Chk box n Execute..

Then i'll ask for New Name So that u can Change ur Function Group.

Hi,

I guess you cannot rename a function group, instead goto se80 and copy the entire function group to the name which you want then delete the old one. Make sure before delete the old one check the entire newly copied function group for the existence of all the function modules.

Goto SE38 --> Enter the program name as SAPL(Function Group Name) e.g. if FG name is TEST then enter Program as SAPLTEST. In the application toolbar, there will be an option Rename. Click on that na dprovide the new name. Press Enter and activate.

Every Function Group has a main program associated with it which contains the TOP Include and the UXX include. UXX include contains the includes. Each include here corresponds to a function module.,

To see the main program, what u can do is goto SE37 --> Goto --> Function Group --> Display Group.

Put the group name here and then press the button Main Program on the popup that comes.

Hence, I am talking of this main program which if u will rename, will automatically rename the Function group.

Hi Naveen,

what you can do is Copy the FG and rename the FM as well and later delete/rename the Previous FM of old FG and rename the new FM's with OLD FMs.

Yes.. my problem solved with all of ur help...

And..

we are having one more option.... for this,

Copy FG into new FG... without FMs...

Now just Reassign FMs to new FG...
