Hi Guys,
Do anybody know if we can compare code of programs between different systems ( One on 4.6c, the other on ECC6.0 )? Is there a possiblility? Has anybody done it?
Thanks & Regards.

Hi Hari,
U can do it by yourself, if u know the 'Target Host' and 'System Number'.
Follow below steps.
Goto -> SM59 -> ABAP Connections -> Click 'Create' button.
Enter description in field 'RFC Destination' and enter value '3' in 'Connection Type' field.
Select tab 'Technical Settings'. Enter values in fields 'Target Host' and 'System Number'.
Select tab 'Logon & Security'. Enter values in fields 'Language' 'Client' 'User' 'Password'.
Save.
Goto -> SE39 -> Click 'Compare Different Systems'.
Enter 'Program'.
Press F4 on field 'RFC Destination' and select the newly created destination and click 'Display'.
Thanks,

I haven't done this but I think we can do this if the RFC destination is maintained via SE39.

Yes,
maintain a RFC destination for the remote system using SM59.
then in SE39 press 'Choose different systems'.

Yes you can do that by maintaining RFC connection.
Ask you basis to maintain RFC between these two systems i mean, you need RFC connection from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 then you can do normal comparision from SE38 - Versions - choose the version then remote comparision then choose the remote system.
Have you ever compared program versions from Development to production.... it is exactly the same way

Hi,
This is basically same as comparing versions of a program through version comparison in SE38/SE39. Ask you basis team to maintain the required RFC and you should be able to do it.

Nilesh.

There is another option to Check the Comparision of Programs. Open Program click Utilities -- > Version --> Version Management. In that Screen, Click the Remote Comparision and give the RFC Dest of the Target System. It will provide the List of Difference between the program with Version Details.

HI Harikrishna,
Go to the program in SE38... click on utilities...Version management...then select the latest version and you have an option for remote comparision... Click on F4..it will list the possible systems...select the one you need and click on comparion...
Hope this helps.
Thanks
