can anyone tell me upto how many columns an ALV can display output...

maximum limit of columns in ALV

please let me know...

Hi Prashant ,

I dont think there is a limit to the number of columns in an ALV .

I just created a program with more than 10000 columns.

So feel there is no restriction.

Here is the code of my test program

TYPE-POOLS : slis.
TYPES : BEGIN OF ty_marc ,
          matnr TYPE matnr ,
          werks TYPE werks_d ,
        END OF ty_marc.
DATA : it_1 TYPE TABLE OF ty_marc ,
       wa_1 TYPE ty_marc.
DATA : events TYPE slis_t_event ,
       catalog TYPE slis_t_fieldcat_alv.

DATA : w_catalog LIKE LINE OF catalog.
START-OF-SELECTION.
  SELECT matnr werks
  INTO TABLE it_1
  UP TO 10 ROWS

  w_catalog-fieldname = 'MATNR'.
  w_catalog-tabname   = 'IT_1'.
  APPEND w_catalog TO catalog.

hi prashant,

default column size is upto 90,

there is a way to increase this.

hi,

Max number Columns -> 90.

Total Length of column heading shuld be not more than 255 in grid and 1023 in list.
