Hi experts,

Can you tell me what is the significance of the field 'counter' in table edid4? This is a table for storing idoc data records.

Hi,

Sorry, I don't have SAP system now.

I think the counter represents the number of repeating segment data/ record.

Thanks Ferry.

But it does nt seem to work that way. I have an idoc with some repeated segments where as all of them have the counter value '000'.

Hi Krishen,

This is good question ... beat me.

It has something to do with counter in cluster table.

I checked in my all SAP systems, it always default to '000'.

I never use this field for any IDoc purposes.

May I know why you asked this question? Any specific reason?

Hi Krishen,

It refers to the counter in the cluster table.It always defaults to '000'.
