Hi Experts,

• I have got an annoying problem with SE80. Whenever I run this transaction I find the “Drop Down for Package, program, etc of Repository Browser Missing” . Can somebody please say how to get that back?

• Along with it I’m not getting the contents of F1 help of any ABAP keywords. It’s also same for abapdocu transaction. I have downloaded a offline ABAP docu in my PC is that the reason?

I’m new to ABAP please help me out.

Regards

Somnath

hi somnath,

first tell me what comes on your screen when u run se80, if something else is coming on your screen then u can jus press that repositry information system tab to get that screen back and if this problem is coming again and again then jus goto utilities and click on settings and in that coming window only tick that repositry information system.

your problem will b solved.

Hi,

Thanks To all for helping me out. I have resolved the issue. It needed the SAP GUI patch and yes i had the IE 7 installed. I 'm posting a detailed description for this isssue.

Problem:

You suddenly STOP seeing the drop down for package, program, … etc of the “Repository Browser” of ‘SE80’ transaction.

Along with this the contents of any F1 or ABAPDOCU help will vanish.

Cause:

You will get this issue if you upgrade your Internet Explorer Vr- 6 (What is there in your PC) to Internet Explorer Vr-7 (The latest one). It changes/upgrades some SAP GUI plugin which causes that annoying issue with SE80, F1 and ABAPDOCU.

Remedy:

Search for “SAP GUI 6.4 patch” and install it. The issue gets resolved. Please stop your SAP Login Pad or SAP related stuff else it will FAIL to install. You need a system reboot after installation.

Assumptions:

Sometimes installation of SAP GUI 6.4 patch does not work. In that situation please restore your computer to some previous date. Remember while restoring your computer to previous date you might lose stored data. So keep backup of your data and then restore.

Warning:

DO NOT INSTALL THE PLUGIN IF YOU DON’T HAVE ANY “SAP GUI” ISSUE.

Warm Regards,

Somnath Das
