Problem while saving an object into Request

Hello

i have a strange problem , my onsite co ordinator given me a report to modify,

he also given a TR for which owner is my onsite co ordinator ex: TRK0003001--RAMANUJ

under which he has created a task with my name TRK0003002--SWAPNA

Now when i am Trying to save the modifications i am getting a popup saying that

"A new task will be created for the following request of user RAMANUJ:"

why the system is trying to create a new task , even though i have alredy a task available under the Request.?

i have checked and found the Program is not locked by any other user or Request.

ofcourse i can create a new task and save under that.

But what could be The Probable reason?

Hi,

This could be because of the kind of changes you are doing and the kind of request which has been created. Like if the object that you are working on is a standard report which you are trying to edit and the request created is a normal request it would ask for another request because the request type should be repair also somethimes if your have a object coming from a foreign transport the system would ask for a repair transport. So if you have an object which if a standrand one you need a REPAIR task where as for normal you need 'Development/correction' and if you have an object of the first kind cannot be included in the task of the second kind and vise-versa.

HI,

U r onsite co-ordinator might might have done ADD USER , so a task was created on ur name....Also as the owner is ur onsite co-ordinator, this might promting you in creating an another task.If u try to change the owner , then i guess u won't get the popup...U can give a try and then u can revert back.
