I've installed sap netweaver, it went very fast on my older machine, took a few minutes & I installed MCC console too. However, when starting it I get:

The service name is invalid

More help is available by typing net helpmsg 2185

The system cannot find the path specified

Have you computer name got more than 10 caracters??? Make it shorter...It should work...

Hello,

My computer name is 'localhost'

I'm also worried about how fast it installed. I'm sure last time it took an hour (5m this time).

localhost is less than 10 characters.

Sorry my computers details are as follows:

Computer description: localhost

Full computer name: ashpc

Workgroup WORKGROUP

This should help.

I uninstalled everything & cleaned the registry using ''SAPNW7.0ABAPTrialSP12\RegCleanTool\sapstartsrv.exe"

I then rebooted

I installed "SAPNW7.0ABAPTrialSP12\image\setup.exe" "SAP Netweaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version" which took 2m 50s

I then installed "SAP Management Console" which followed from the previous install and took 25s

I then went to Start->Programs->SAP Netweaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version->NSP->Start Application Server

I got the error message above.

Please also note, I've tried this with computer name 'ASHPC' and got the same error. What is going wrong?
