Hi folks,
i just need some information regarding the various message types that we encounter whilst workin on ALE idocs .
basically am not able to understand what exactly do these message types mean ,
like DESADV,SHPORD, FIDCC2, etc etc ........
i want to knoe their business meanings what exactly do they functionally mean and not the technical meanings .....

Hi Jaya,
DESADV-->Delivery-Shipping Notification
DESADV is used for sending the delivery details to the customers.Say for eg..Material Delivery Details.
SHPORD-->Delivery: Dispatch order
SHPORD is used for sending the mode of dispatch of the delivery.
FIDCC2-->Send entire FI documents
FIDCC2 for sending the FI documents.

Hi Jayakrishna,
ALE uses IDOCs to transfer data. These data are transfered by Message name.
MESSAGE TYPE - To identify what data is being transferred.
eg. MATMAS - Material data is transferred.
CREMAS - Customer Master
DEBMAS - Vendor Master
Execute transaction we81 to see all the Message types.
