Hi All,
There is a material notification created (QM03) the Controlling Area is not filling in automatically in the Location Tab. So whenever the user clicks on the Location Tab he gets an error message "Enter a Controlling Area".
How can this be corrected?

Is your company code always going to be the same? You could set the PID - BUK equal to the company code.
If not, there are many user exits available in notifications. What version are you one?

Hi Michelle,
Thanks for your reply.
But I didn't get what you mean by 'set the PID - BUK to company code'.
The Company Code will not be the same for all. I debugged it and founf that there is an FM 'READ_NOTIFICATION' which reads the data related to Notification. This FM is reading the Company Code properly but no Controlling Area is read.
I am not sure but this seems to be some FICO related setting.

It does seems like a configuration setting. I looked in SPRO. It looks like controlling area is linked to the company code. If your company code is displaying in the notification then your controlling area should be.
You might want to look at the configuration settings for controlling area. (OKKP or SPRO and navigate to controlling area.)
My area of SAP is not really the CO area. (QM, MM, WM, IM, PP - or Plan to Produce are the areas I normally work in. Notifications are one of those cross components.)
PID - parameter ID in your user settings. You could set this up, but only if the same controlling area was always used.
Hopefully this helps,
Michelle
