Mass Update using ALV editable lists

I will have two ALV editable lists on my screen. If a user selects a column(s) in the top ALV list and selects rows in the bottom ALV list and selects a custom “Mass Update’ button, I want to populate the selected rows in the bottom ALV list with the values entered in the selected column(s) in the top ALV list.

How can I get the values in the selected column(s) in the top ALV list so they are available to update the rows in the bottom ALV list?

Hi Sandy..

you could use the method GET_SELECTED_ROWS of the class CL_GUI_ALV_GRID.

Have a look at the program BCALV_GRID_07.

Assuming you have GRID1 and GRID2,

GRID1->GET_SELECTED_COLUMNS will give you selected columns from the top grid.

GRID20>GET_SELECTED_ROWS will give the selected rows from the bottom grid.

Now, you can update the internal table of the second grid from the column selected and do REFRESH_TABLE_DISPLAY.
