Hi dear SDN users,
I am having a small query, please clear it to me ASAP.
I am uploading material master using LSMW.
I can test the LSMW with some records in flat file, after successfully executing the session created in LSMW the material master will be updated in my Development server, how one can update the data in Production server.how to handle the Session created in LSMW, and the file in the presentation server.
Thanks & Regards

hi,
if you execute your LSMW program in dev system data will upload to only DEV system. if the functional people confirms this LSMW working fine & then they will move this object to Quality & they test here too. if everything goes fine finally they will move this Object to Production. this is the normal development process.
about handling your file on the presentation server :
in the step of "Specify Files" ,
You will give "Legacy Data On the PC (Frontend)"
your local file path in this field.
and then system will propose a particular path on the application server for the same file data after importing & converting. so the imported data file & converted data file will be stored on application server.
pl revert, if you need any further clarifications
regards
srikanth

Hi Khan,
You can use the LSMW IDOC method to create IDOC out of the Flat file and then for the same IDOC you can trigger an outbound to the desired system.
If you want I can sent you a ppt that tells you step by step procedure for LSMW IDOC Method.
Give me your email id. I will send it to you.
Also reward some points if it helps.

hi,
from the LSMW main screen menu " EXTRAS->GENERATE CHANGE REQUEST "
If you click on this, it will asks you Transport request.
then that request can be moved to quality/production as required.
we use SE09 to release the request from Development system.

Hi Srikanth,
I was happy to see your answer.
I think the file path what ever we upload should also be same in the Production server right.

i think in the production, the legacy file path can be changed by the user or they can maintain the same path.
But i am not very sure about this.

Hi ,
No need to transport the material master Lsmw From dev to Production.
there is a option .you can use import/Export option in the lsmw.In the same fashion u can transport whole project or subproject to prodduction system.
in my previous project, i have done material master upload in production environment. if u have any concern pls let me know.
Regards,
Sudhakar.
