Right, the word is is that ECC 6.0 will be the core till 2010, but the platform will be upgradable, meaning that the basis layer or Netweaver Application Server will have new releases periodically.

Hi, the latest version of the core ECC component(formaly called R/3) is ECC 6.0 which runs on the Netweaver 2004s platform.

If we really want to be correct with the branding then it is really stated as......

SAP ERP2005 which includes ECC 6.0(formaly R/3) which runs on Netweaver 2004s.

Now the latest version is ECC 6.0, basis version 700. It will be there till December 2007. Up to that , SAP is not going to release any version.
