Issue with Table maintian generator

Hi,

I have created customized table with 2 fields. Based on first field it needs to pull from the second field data. I have done table maintenance generator too. After i entered the data in to those fields, i could not able to change it through SM30. When i was opened, those records are opening in read mode only. Can any one tell me the reason.

Hi Jaya,

Check that You are allowing the table for maintains or not? These option was asked from the System when the table is created.

see the doc and do it again correctly:

table maintanance Generator is used to manually

input values using transaction sm30

follow below steps

1) go to se11 check table maintanance check box under

attributes tab

2) utilities-table maintanance Generator->

create function group and assign it under

function group input box.

also assign authorization group default &NC& .

3)

select standard recording routine radio in table

table mainitainence generator to move table

contents to quality and production by assigning

it to request.

4) select maintaience type as single step.

5) maintainence screen as system generated numbers

this dialog box appears when you click on create

button

6) save and activate table

One step, two step in Table Maintenance Generator

Single step: Only overview screen is created i.e. the Table Maintenance Program will have only one screen where you can add, delete or edit records.

Two step: Two screens namely the overview screen and Single screen are created. The user can see the key fields in the first screen and can further go on to edit further details.

Thanks for your valid inputs, but i dont think its problem with TMG (table maintenance generator), since i entered the data in to the table from SM30 only.

Any other suggestions.

Hi Jaya,

One reason might be that the Display/maintenance allowed option is not selected ('Delivery/maintenance' tab strip field-Data Browser/Table of T-Code SE11 ).

Second reason might be that the 2 fields defined might be key fields.U cannot change the key fields of the custom table through the table maintenance.

Thanks for your valuable inputs,

1) Display / Maintenance allowed - Already selected the same

2) In those 2 fields - first one only KEY field the second one is optional, but both linked to check tables to maintain foreign key relation ships.

Have U checked the Authorization group provided while generating the Table maintenance. The authorization group U provide might not have the change option for the user.Please chekc it once.
