Issue at system connectivity

Hello community,

my name is Patric and I need some help.

I installed ABAP in Eclipse and also I have an test system called S56.

Now I have a connection problem 🙂 and i don't understand the text in the logfile of eclipse.

Maybee you have an idea?

1.) What do I need to setup in the backend (in system S56)? Maybee some service in the SICF?

2.) Is it possible, that something infront of the backend is canceling my connection?

Dear Patric (If you want it without a k you should correct your SCN Profile),

seems you're using a load balancing connection. Please check if your local services File contains a line sapmsS56 with the port number 33 + Instance Number.

Can you give me a small hint, where i can find the local services file? Do you mean my local saplogon.ini?

Dear Patric,

on Windows this should be C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. But please check with your Basis Admin. Normally they are maintained centrally.

Now I created an entry in the services-file, but that didn't work for our landscape 🙂

In the attached file you can see the systemconfig, which is shown up in eclipse.

Is it possible, that our saplogin.ini is wrong, because their are two entries missing?

Just checked my service file. I was wrong with 33 + Instance number. Please try 36 + Instance No.

For all other Users: Steps for your personal solution (If you have this issue, too.):

1.) Go to Directory "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc"

2.) Open the File "services" with an text-editor (like Notepad++)

3.) Check this file for following entries:

sapmsXXX  36XX/tcp

4.) Insert into XXX = Your individual System-ID

5.) Insert into 36XX = The Systems-Instance-Number --> Can also be found in your individual saplogon.ini in the section [MSSrvPort] ! This PORT is the complete number for your system, with the 36 in front of the Systems-Instance-Number! For example (directly from an saplogon.ini):
