IDOC problem--urgent

Hello Everyone,

I have problem with an inbound desadv01 idoc.

The DESaDV01 has two header segments,

E1EDK07[Shipping notification (transport)]

E1EDK08[Shipping notification (delivery)].

Now my partner only sends me delivery info. as transport info is not required.When i receive the info frm my partner[from EDI], the idoc i throws up the error:

"EDI: Syntax error in idoc (mandatory field missing)----

SAP diagnosis is:---

"The segment group E1EDK07 has the attribute 'Mandatory' in the syntax description of the basic type DESADV01 (customer enhancement ). However, the segment group is missing in the IDoc. The segment number logged in the status record identifies the item before which the segment group is missing."

Please help...its urgent.

Hello Every one,

I like to find out as to which fields are mandatory for an entire idoc. For example for an basic type orders01, i like to know as to which fields are mandatory in the segments of that basic type.

Hi,

In We20 when the partner profile entry for the inbound idoc, there is a check box called "Syntax check", you can uncheck this to avoid the error you are getting.

This checkbox is in the "Inbound options" tab after the input field "Process Code".

Hi rahul,

What you can do is to fill in that data in the inbound IDoc's function module's function exit.

If you go to We62 and select Basic Type Radio Button

and Give desadv01. and see the Documentation of E1EDK07

<b>E1EDK07 : IDoc: Document header shipping notification (transport)

Status: Required , min. number : 1 , max. number : 1</b>

you also check it .

you can see the documentation of all segments and they are Mandatory/Not..

I saw that E1EDK07 is required check...

Go to we60 and give the basic type and you can view the segment information along with the fields in them.

Go to WE62 transaction, and select radio button Basic type

and give your tpe.

and click on first button(HTML formatbutton) in application tool bar ,

it will give the documentation of fields along with

mandatory/optional....

try that...

Goto BD65, give the Message type then it will show the mandatory fields of message type along with the segments

Hello all,

We can make out from we60, etc as to which segment is mandatory...but can we make out as to which field is mandatory in that segment. Is there any way to find out specifically as to what fields are mandotory in segments of DESAADV01.

Anyway as i dont require the transportation information..can i reduce the idoc, if so, can any one explain me how to do it.

Check WE62 there you can see segments and their fields

with mandatory/optional..

U can reduce the Message type using BD53. But in that case u have to assign that Message type to the concern IDOC type

Tcode BD65 does not display for message DESADV. Any other possible ways to know the mandatory fields in an segment for a message type.

like lengths,type,optional or mandatory..
