Idoc extention and function module

Hi,

Can anyone tell me when we extend the IDOC,

1. Is it really needed to create Z function module.

2. And when we extend the idoc does it become Z IDOC.

3. If want to extend ORDERS message type does it mean that it will have to be ZORDERS or not? and need Z funciton modlue.

4. If anyone can tell me how much time would it take to build the extention of IDOC.

- No. It is not required.

- No. Only the extension become Z<extension>

may be 1 or 2 man days. . depend on your comfort with IDOCs.
