How to compare same object in same TR but in different task

Dear All,

I want to compare one ztable which is in same TR but in different task. How can i compare this ztable in these two task that what changes are there in respective task.

Like in screenshot below, i want to compare the changes in table CI_EKPODB  in task 31183 and 37954 which is in same TR 31181.

Hi,

you need to go to the object (double click on it). Then menu "Utilities" - "Versions" - "Version management". There you can compare any versions of this object.

Sorry, but because they are in the same parent transport number, they have the same version.

but there is different developer id . So is there any means to track the changes done in both the task??

No.

You can only check versions between released requests.

The best answer we came up with was to take away permission for developers to create their own tasks. The project Manager had to do it for them.  The project manager then released the pending change forcing a new version.  Later, we decided that that was too inefficient.

Both tasks are included in the same request, so they point to the same object in its current state, and it is technically not possible to determine which changes were done under which task.

Just use the 'Sort and compress' option to remove the redundancy and also have only the 'latest' version in transport request.

Hi Prem,

I see CI_EKPODB is a customer structure.  If you click on the version management, in the sub request,

This will give you all the request for the object. Had it been a table you can select the Key Icon to see all the entries within the request.

But within the same request, everything's going to be the same.

The other and definitive way is to check the import logs to see the actual details. Import logs will contain all the entries/changes.

You cannot compare objects in two tasks within the same transport. They will ALWAYS be the same objects.

You should sort and compress in the context menu on the transport/task so you will only have one object with all changes in the transport, the latest version.
