You may use function module DATE_TO_PERIOD_CONVERT, using current date and your current company code

   SELECT SINGLE periv INTO i_periv
     FROM t001                                   
     WHERE bukrs = i_-bukrs.                        
   CALL FUNCTION 'DATE_TO_PERIOD_CONVERT'        
        EXPORTING                                
             i_date  = sy-datum
             i_periv = i_periv                     
        IMPORTING                                
             e_buper = monat.
