Hello there,
I am on a middle of an Upgrade from 4.7 to ECC6.0 EHP4 on DB2. I started the upgrade and chose the UPGRADE & UNICODE CONVERSION option. The upgrade is on the 7th phase and ask me to adjust the SPAU.
But I noticed that ....to have my system on UNICODE, I have to do an export/import process. But I have not done yet the SPAU and there are a lot of objects to adjust.
My question is.... CAN I do the export/import process BEFORE ADJUST the SPAU??? Could that be risky????
Or DO I MUST adjust the SPAU first and after the export/import process???
Thank you and regards.

Hi Diana,
technically there is no hard restriction to execute the SPAU after the Unicode conversion.
However you need to have a look at SAP note 638357 for general transport restrictions (Unicode - Non-Unicode).
In addition, please check SAP note 194321.
Best regards,

Hi,
It is recommended to run SPAU to check for repaired object.
As per Note: 928729 Combined Upgrade & Unicode Conversion FAQ
Hope this helps.
Cheers
