Hello friends,
I have a requirement to capture some data into a Custom table when the Transaction FLB2 is executed. I used the exit in the program - RFEBLB20 - EXIT_RFEBLB20_001. this exit is triggered and the data in updated in my custom table.
However the issue is this data needs to be updated only when, IF vgtyp = 'BAI2'. I am unabel to capture the value in VGTYP. ANy suggestions on this or any more exits that could be used to serve this purpose.
Thanks,
Rajeev.
Thanks Brad for the sugestion.
The valus in the main program is in the field VGTYP and I dont want to chnage anything in the main program. i want to captue this in a exit called from a main program. Can I still use the field symbol and if yes can you please exppain in detail how?

You can use a field symbol to access the value of the record format from the main program.

DATA: lv_fieldname TYPE fieldname,
lv_vgtyp TYPE vgtyp_eb.
FIELD-SYMBOLS: <lfs_vgtyp> TYPE vgtyp_eb.
lv_fieldname = '(RFEBLB20)vgtyp'.
ASSIGN (lv_fieldname) TO <lfs_vgtyp>.
IF sy-subrc EQ 0.
lv_vgtyp = <lfs_vgtyp>.
ENDIF.
if lv_vgtyp eq '...'.
* do something
endif.
