Error downloading SAP Note - System setting does not allow changes...

Hi,

I am downloading SAP Note 1164193 - WOUPS: Internal error: long text not found.

And I get the error: "System setting does not allow changes to be made to object NOTE 0001164193".

Does anyone know the reason for this and how to fix it?

Thanks.

Giscard

Download it to the development instance, not the productive one. Then after testing transport to QA and then production.

Error means the object described in the note is set to 'Not modifiable' in your system.

For your Note 1164193 it's objects prefix with /ISDFPS.

You can change it to 'Modifiable' via SE06 -> click System Change option and look for the prefix.

Dear friends:

the post have some years alone and without answer.

when you recive de MSJ error: "System setting does not allow changes to be made to object NOTE XXXX" and the node say ROOT

you need to do:

1. download the sapnote manually from marketplace to you download basket

2. donwload the note to you PC

3. enter to TX SNOTE and upload the sapnote manualy.

When you can see the note on the list, now you can download the notes by snote.

Hi Giscard,

the objects in the note belong to extension name space  /ISDFPS/. That means  /ISDFPS/ should be installed in your system and  /ISDFPS/ is defined as name space.

First check the existemce and/or settings of this namespace, refer to Setting Up a Namespace for Development
