customizing standard sap tables

in order to modify/customize sap standard table we have two options: APPEND STRUCTURE and CUSTOM INCLUDES.....can any one tell me what is the difference ?

Custom includes are provided by SAP itself. Append structure can be added to the structure by the customer itself.

for acheving customised table in standard sap,

we have to create a structure through se11 and then append structure for particular sap table .

I normally follow these 2 steps:

1st - Validate if SAP provides a custom include.

2nd - If not, go to SE11 and create an append structure directly using APPEND button.

Please, make sure you check the enhancement type of the table before hand.

GO TO SE11->DATA TYPE->CREATE->STRUCTURE->THEN GIVE FIELD NAME .

Hi,

Say for example , Table VBAK.

Goto SE11, give vbak , then click on append structure on the application tool bar.

It will get available struture names & also u can create new structure by clicking create buttion . once u click on the create button , system automatically will get the structure names as ZAVBAK or ZBVBAK or ZCVBAK like that .

Afterwards , u create fields , activate the structure & come back to vbak & do the table adjustment through SE14 transaction.

Includes are nothing but the TABLE CUSTOMER EXITS.

i'll give u example of ekko table

go to sell and than f7

than there is a option of append structure in tool bar

give any name say zekko

than enter ur fields

than then activate
