creating a structure with 100 string fields

hi,

i have following problem:

i want to download the headers of a table to an excel file.

therefore i have filled an internal table from dd03l with for example this structure:

text1

text2

......

text10

SELECT fieldname

INTO corresponding fields of TABLE lt_dd03l

FROM dd03l WHERE keyflag = 'X' AND tabname = gf_c_tab.

Then i create an internal table with these 10 string fields and fill a structure of this table with the headers:

text1 | text2 | ......|text10.

types: Begin of lt_headertyp,

string1 type string,

string2 type string,

string3 type string,

string4 type string,

string5 type string,

string6 type string,

string7 type string,

string8 type string,

string9 type string,

string10 type string,

end of lt_headertyp.

data: lt_header type table of lt_headertyp,

ls_header like line of lt_header,

ls_date like line of lt_header.

loop at lt_dd03l into ls_dd03l.

do 1 times.

assign component sy-tabix of structure ls_header to <fsoutvalue>.

if sy-subrc = 0.

<fsoutvalue> = ls_dd03l.

exit.

endif.

enddo.

endloop.

append ls_header to lt_download

....

*download lt_download

But now i have i table with 120 fields.

How can i create a structure with these 120 string without introducing this string-table with 120 fields?

Please note that this example maybe slow at filling the excel table

(perhaps four fields per second on a 900 MHz machine - almost 30 seconds

for a short example).

To get the data on properties and methods - there is a bit of smoke and mirrors

going on here; they are EXCEL properties and methods, not sap ones - so you need

to look at excel help to determine how a particular function is structured. then

build the block in sap, as shown in the example.

If you only want to transfer the data to Excel like when you transfer the data from

ALV to Excel simply use the Function Modules:

XXL_SIMPLE_API

If you want more modifications when you transfer it to Excel use:

XXL_FULL_API

i have to add that we are using cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_downoad and not OLE.

Why won´t you use OLE?
