convert date to timestamp

hi,

I'm converting an spread sheet to internal table using FM 'ALSM .........' my problem is I'm getting date from the excell sheet but before storing it into internal table i want to convert the date into timestamp.

Please see if the "CONVERT" operator does what you want. There is a pretty good help page on it. Here is a small extract from it.

CONVERT DATE

Syntax

CONVERT DATE dat [TIME tim [DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME dst]]

INTO TIME STAMP time_stamp TIME ZONE tz.
