shift var1 LEFT DELETING LEADING space.
shift var1 RIGHT DELETING TRAILING space.

if i use condense even the gaps between the words get deleted , which should not happen.

SHIFT STRING LEFT DELETING LEADING SPACE.
SHIFT STRING RIGHT DELETING TRAILING SPACE.
